CHA'MIER ISOM
Ms. Isom brings a dynamic, well-rounded background, having previously served as a judicial intern in the 280th District Court, a staffer in the Texas House of Representatives, and gained national-level experience as a Player Health Legal Fellow with the National Basketball Association offices in New York City. Prior to law school, Ms. Isom had an eight-year career as a Mathematics Educator in both Georgia and Texas, an experience that informs her disciplined, analytical, and client-focused approach.
Ms. Isom earned her Juris Doctor from Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University, where she demonstrated a strong commitment to leadership and service, serving as Assistant Director of Special Events for the Student Bar Association and as President of the Mindfulness in Law Society. She also holds a Master of Science in Education from the Johns Hopkins University School of Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Rutgers University-New Brunswick.
In her personal life, Ms. Isom is a passionate advocate for community engagement and empowerment. As Ms. Black Houston, she uses her platform to uplift the voices and experiences of women while promoting healing, advocacy, and collective impact. In her free time, she enjoys baking, traveling, dancing, and embracing creativity as a balance to her professional life.
