JAVIER CABANILLAS
Javier Cabanillas grew up in Port Arthur, Texas where he attended historic Thomas Jefferson High School and witnessed its transition into Memorial High.
As an associate attorney with the Ferguson Law Firm, Javier represent clients suffering any form of
personal injury including automobile accidents, drunk driving accidents, pedestrian accidents, and
premises liability accidents. When not representing clients, Javier enjoys his time with his wife, tinkering in his garage workshop, and chasing his two very active toddlers around the playground.
Javier is admitted to practice in the State Bar of Texas and U.S. Eastern District of Texas.

Background & Education
Javier then received a degree in Automotive Technology from Lamar State College Port Arthur followed by a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Lamar University, Beaumont. Javier completed his Doctor of Jurisprudence at Baylor Law School with a concentration in Business Transactions. At Baylor, Javier competed in state and national advocacy competitions. Javier also spent many weekends proudly representing military veterans through the Baylor Veteran’s Clinic. Javier won multiple professionalism and brief drafting awards at Baylor, but he is most proud of his Texas Pro-Bono and Public Service Awards recognizing his work for central Texas military veterans.
