FERGUSON LAW FIRM CONTINUES EXPANSION; ADDS THREE NEW ATTORNEYS
At a time when many businesses are laying off or furloughing employees, Beaumont’s The Ferguson Law Firm, LLP continues its growth and expansion with the hiring of three additional attorneys. Managing Partner Paul ‘Chip’ Ferguson said, “We continue to grow by leaps and bounds – in terms of work, resources and revenue. To better serve our clients, we made the decision to expand and have added three more attorneys to our already substantial talent pool.”
The new attorneys bring strong academic backgrounds along with established practical experience. “Each bring their own unique tool set that will immediately serve our clients,” Ferguson added. The new attorneys are Layne Walker, Jr., Samantha Leifeste and Jonathan ‘Tripp’ Jones.
Layne Walker brings deep ties to Southeast Texas to the firm. He graduated from Hardin-Jefferson High School, did his undergraduate work at Lamar University and graduated from South Texas College of Law. While in law school, Mr. Walker won the Gerald Treece Top Advocate Award and received the Best Closing Argument Award at the National Civil Trial Competition. “Layne is a great addition to the firm,” Ferguson said. “Not only is he talented, he has a long bloodline of legal service. His father, Judge Layne Walker, served this county as a district judge and his grandfather, Judge Ron Walker, served as a district judge, court of appeals justice and as Jefferson County Judge. We expect great things from Layne.” Mr. Walker will work primarily with firm partner Mark Sparks.
Samantha Leifeste also has strong Southeast Texas roots. A native of Orange, Texas, Ms. Leifeste obtained both her undergraduate and law degree from Baylor University. While at Baylor, she was named to the law school’s Dean’s List and awarded both the Featherston Award and Community Bank & Trust Award. Samantha also worked as a judicial intern for Hon. Judge Courtney Arkeen and as an extern for the Baylor University Office of General Counsel. Prior to joining the Ferguson Law Firm, Ms. Leifeste was an attorney with Germer, PLLC. “I expect Samantha to become one of the outstanding young attorneys in Southeast Texas,” Ferguson commented. “She is smart, dedicated and hard-working. Those are the ingredients for success.” Ms. Leifeste will work primarily with Mr. Ferguson.
Tripp Jones joins the firm after spending two years as an Assistant District Attorney in Armstrong and Potter County. His experience there included a substantial percentage of felony trial work. Mr. Jones graduated from Texas A&M University School of Law after he received his undergraduate degree from N.Y.U. While at Texas A&M, he was an active mock trial participant, being named “Best Advocate” in the 2018 Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial Competition and being a National Member of The Order of Barristers. Mr. Ferguson commented, “Tripp brings immediate first-chair trial experience to the law firm. That is, in a firm such as ours, one of the most valuable assets available.” Mr. Jones will work primarily with firm partner Jane S. Leger.
The addition of these three attorneys will allow the Ferguson Law Firm to continue its mission of obtaining the best results for each client, each time.
