We've talked a lot about going after compensation from insurance companies, but that's not all that we do. A lot of times we go after companies that don't have enough insurance but have cut corners and made conscious decisions that brought harm to our clients. What I tell my clients is what my partner Chip has said for years, and he's right about it: all corporations bleed the same color, and that color is green.

So a lot of times we will go directly after the company and their money — their assets — if that's what it takes to compensate our clients. That's number one, but it also deters future bad conduct. Sometimes we are not just taking care of our clients; we're taking care of the community and society, when we go after a company and make it so expensive and so uncomfortable to their own pocketbook that they decide to change their ways.
