If you are in a crash with someone who does not have insurance, you should still call the Ferguson Law Firm, because we can examine your own coverage to see if you have purchased what we call uninsured or underinsured coverage. Oftentimes, clients are involved in a wreck with a responsible party who does not have enough insurance to cover their damages. A good example would be someone who is injured severely and has to be life-flighted from a scene here locally to a trauma center in Houston — a $30,000 liability policy for an at-fault driver is not going to cover that type of medical treatment.

So we look at our client's own insurance, and any other insurance that could apply to the vehicle they were in. A lot of times, we also end up educating people about the kind of insurance they need to buy to protect themselves from being involved in a wreck with somebody who does not have any insurance, or enough insurance, to cover their damages.
