Attorney Mark Sparks – Understanding your Rights
Ferguson Law Firm Attorney Mark Sparks explains the importance of a trial attorney.
I think there's an imbalance between insurance companies and large companies on one side and an individual on the other. Fortunately, in this nation we have a court system, and with the right lawyer you can create balance where there was imbalance. I don't like insurance companies, I don't like the way some people are treated, and I don't like bullies. So when I take on a client, it's more than shifting money from side to side — it's rebalancing what has been placed out of balance.
We have a jury trial right in this nation and in this state, and the exercise of a right is not something you should hesitate to do. It's something you should be proud to do. It's something you should do quickly, and it's something you should do with proper representation.
I have so many clients come to me and say, "Mark, I wouldn't have talked to you if I saw you at a birthday party, because of my position in life — you're a plaintiff's lawyer, and I never dreamed I'd be in your office. I can't believe I'm filing a lawsuit." I tell them why: you have a right to this. The Founding Fathers were brilliant enough to instill it in our Constitution. So why wouldn't you use something that was so hard fought and is so powerful? Particularly when you've been hurt, or someone in your family has been hurt — use it to stand up for yourself and your family, because it's a constitutional right.
